Spirit Works Distillery: Sloe Gin

Spirit Works is an artisan microdistillery in Sebastopol founded in 2012 by husband and wife Ashby and Timo and is one of the few women-run distilleries in the US. They won the high honor of Distillery of the Year by ADI in 2020 and are continually voted Best Craft Distillery and Tasting Room in Sonoma County.

Community Support for Brian Munn: Update for Co-op Members

Dear Community and Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op Members,

We want to share an update about our General Manager, Brian Munn, who was in a serious dirt biking accident on November 25th. This challenging time has prompted us to rally together and support Brian, his wife Dana, and their children. To help ease their financial burden during the months ahead, the family has initiated a GoFundMe which can be accessed for donations and updates to Brian’s condition and recovery.

Feeding Our Community

One of the 7 Cooperative Principles that all co-ops adhere to is “Concern for Community”. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of people experiencing food insecurity has gone up exponentially.

Over the past year, our Outreach Coordinator, Lori Friedli has been focusing on collecting our edible food waste and donating it to organizations that serve people in need. Since she’s taken on this responsibility, she has been able to spot opportunities for donation that would have otherwise been thrown away.
