July's Round Up at the Register Recipient: La Familia Counseling Center
We are happy to announce our Round Up at the Register recipient for July 2022 is La Familia Counseling Center. Every time our customers go through the register, they have the opportunity to round up their change to this local organization. These small donations add up to big impacts for our community!
The mission of La Familia Counseling Center is to improve the quality of life for at-risk youth and families of diverse backgrounds by providing multicultural counseling, outreach and support services to low income, at-risk youth and families in Sacramento County. For more than 40 years, La Familia has successfully operated programs that have been recognized on the local, state and national levels. All of La Familia’s services are free and bilingual staff members are available to meet the needs of our diverse community.
La Familia offers a variety of programs to the community including:
- Mental Health counseling for youth up to 21
- Mental Health Community education
- A Birth and Beyond Parenting program, including Early Learners, School Readiness and Family Resource Center
- Career Center services including job readiness and placement
- Health services including Vaccination and Testing events as well as chronic disease management
- Senior Citizen Services
- Youth services including Girl Scout Troop, Afterschool Homework Club, Youth Voice and Project Reach.
The donations from our customers through the Round Up at the Register program will support their Youth Summer Lunch program which offers children and youth a healthy meal and fun activities as well as learning opportunities during the summer. In addition to serving hundreds of youths, they are also able to hire youth as camp counselors.
The Co-op’s Round Up at the Register program is an easy way for Co-op shoppers to donate to local organizations that are making our community a better place! Since we started the program in March 2021, our generous Co-op shoppers have helped us raise over $325,000!
